Eye lift: Eyelid surgery (blepharoplasty) is cosmetic surgery to remove excess skin or fat from the eyelids. The aim is to improve hooded or droopy eyelids or eye bags. Surgery on the upper eyelids generally involves: making an incision along the eyelid crease in the natural skin fold of the eyelid, removing excess skin, fat or muscle and closing up the incision - the scar will be hidden in the natural fold of the eyelid. Marie had a Cleopatra eye lift which is an extended one. NOTE: Before you go ahead, be sure about your reasons for wanting eyelid surgery. Bear in mind the cost, the risks, and the fact the results can't be guaranteed! A blepharoplasty can be done under local anaesthetic with sedation or under general anaesthetic. NOTE: The surgeon would need to know about any medicine you may be taking to reduce your risk of blood clots, such as aspirin or warfarin. It's a good idea to discuss your plans with your GP first. There might be a medical condition affecting your eyelids or a reason why the operation isn't appropriate for you. It's advisable to take about a week off work to recover from eyelid surgery.

Costs are from £2000 - £6000 pounds.

Chemical peel:

Chemical Peels are one of the most popular, non-invasive cosmetic procedures performed to rejuvenate the appearance of the skin and give the complexion a boost. Peels can be a simple, fast and highly effective way to achieve radiant skin for a special event and can also be used to dramatically lessen the effects of more serious skin conditions.

A Chemical Peel simply removes a layer of damaged skin from the face by a chemical reaction to reveal a newer, healthier layer. The chemical solution applied causes trauma to the epidermis of the skin, which causes the outer layers to peel away. When the skin begins to heal, increased cell growth produces new, healthier skin layers that give the face a more youthful appearance.

You really shouldn't do this except under supervision - there are creams which you can put on that will have a lesser but similar effect. But you should never just buy something over the internet that promises a chemical peel. Marie had an acid peel which should only ever be carried out by people who know what they are doing.
