Theptarin is Thailand's first diabetes center. When Theptarin was first established, the goal was to prevent complication of diabetes. In 2002, when Diabetes Prevention Program (DPP Study) announced its findings that lifestyle modification can effectively prevent diabetes, Theptarin expanded its scope of work to cover lifestyle for disease prevention. In 2005, our Lifestyle Building opened its door to host a variety of services and activities. Theptarin constantly follow up-to-date research and apply appropriate findings to routine services, allowing patients to benefit from new knowledge.
Starting in 2007, Theptarin Hospital received grants from World Diabetes Foundation to run foot care training for medical personnel from all around Thailand. So far over 2,500 persons have been trained at the center.
