In 2013, the Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile partnered with CHRISTUS Health, one of the 10 largest health institutions in the United States and belonging to the Order of the Sisters of Charity of the Incarnate Word, in order to expand its network of Health in both Chile and Latin America. CHRISTUS Health has more than 60 hospitals and long-term care facilities, 175 clinics and outpatient centers. The organization employs about 30,000 people, including more than 9,500 physicians.
The new UC CHRISTUS Health Network has eleven medical centers including three family health centers operating in areas of high vulnerability in the Metropolitan Region. In addition, it has an extensive network of sampling units for laboratory tests, a hospital and two clinics. Nearly a thousand doctors and more than four thousand people dedicate their work to take care of the health of the people.
