The Bnai Zion Medical Center, established in 1922 as the first Jewish hospital in Haifa provides dedicated medical care, education, research and services to the diverse and growing population of Northern Israel. In a recent national newspaper survey, Bnai Zion Medical Center was voted number one in Northern Israel. Hospital has 450 beds and hosts 65 000 inpatients per year and has around 14 000 surgeries per year.
The Bnai Zion Medical Center, a municipal-governmental hospital, provides excellent medical care combined with a warm and caring touch. There is a great deal of attention to rehabilitation services including orthopedic, neurological, cardio, physical therapy and occupational therapy. This is the only hospital in Northern Israel with a comprehensive rehabilitation program.
In the “Rambam” hospital are working 4,100 people which includes 850 doctors, 1500 nurses and 1750 paramedics and administration.
At medical center “Rambam” nobel prize winners are working such as Prof. Avram Hershko, Prof. Dan Shechtman.
Each year in “Rambam” hospital there are around 50 000 surgical operations, 80,000 hospitalizations, 100,000 patients were treated in the emergency room, 500,000 patients were treated in day hospitals and received 5,000 births.
